Founder, Noor Abaseen Restaurant
My father's life is a beautiful example of hard work, patience, sacrifice, honesty, courage, and complete trust in Allah Almighty. His journey teaches us that when a person continues to work hard with patience, sincerity, and faith in Allah, even the most difficult paths can eventually lead to success.
My father was born on 1 January 1971. His business journey began in 1995 in his hometown of Torghar, Pakistan, with a small business dealing with cattle, buffaloes, goats, and other livestock. He continued this work with dedication and consistency, and it was here that he developed the strong work ethic that would later become the foundation of his success.
In search of better opportunities, he later travelled to the United Arab Emirates. Life there was not easy in the beginning — he worked in different fields, including physically demanding labor such as sand lifting. There were days when he lived on nothing more than bread and yogurt while friends around him ate better. He never once complained; every honest effort made for a halal income was, to him, honorable.
Before establishing himself in the UAE, my father had also gained valuable experience working in the restaurant business in Karachi, Pakistan. That grounding in food preparation, customer service, and business management became invaluable when he later entered the restaurant industry in the UAE — starting at a restaurant in Al Ain, before eventually becoming a partner through his hard work and honesty.
He went on to help manage a second restaurant and even took over a tailoring shop for a time, before entering a new restaurant partnership that he built up with tremendous effort. When that partnership became complicated, my father chose patience and peace over conflict, and walked away from years of hard work with his integrity intact.
Honor, peace of mind, honesty, and a clear conscience are more valuable than wealth.

The United Arab Emirates holds a special place in my father's journey. We sincerely appreciate the leadership, government, and people of the UAE for giving hardworking people like my father the opportunity to come to this country, work, build their lives, and pursue their dreams. What began as sand-lifting labor grew — through the opportunities this country offered — into a thriving restaurant business. May Allah Almighty continue to bless the United Arab Emirates with peace, stability, prosperity and progress.
As his son, I have witnessed many chapters of my father's life — his hard work, difficult days, sacrifices, and the moments he had to start again from the beginning. Above all, I have seen him serve and care deeply for his mother, my grandmother. His love, respect, and service toward her are among the qualities I admire most, and are a great source of pride for me. I am proud to be the son of Syed Noor Zaman Shah.
